The action comedy won the moviegoers’ hearts for the period August 2 to 4 as it made its box office debut.
On Friday, “2 Guns”, which stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, raked in $9.8 million and this rose to $27.5 million at the end of its first weekend in movie theatres.
“The Wolverine”, number one in the box office last week, is now at second place with a start of $6.4 million and a total of $21.7 million after three days.
Completing the top five top grossers in the box office over the weekend are “Smurfs 2” with $18.1 million for the third place. “The Conjuring” follows with $13.6 million and “Despicable Me 2” starring Steve Carrell is at fifth with $10.3 million.
