“I caved… Just wrapped a #Maxim photoshoot,” the 23-year-old actress tweeted.
Stripping off with just her underwear on, the child star proves she’s not little Ruthie Camden anymore. She posed for the September 2013 issue of Maxim magazine, which will come out on August 13.
Asked if she was worried about what people might say, the former 7th Heaven star said, “They might be. But you know what? It’s who I am.”
In 2000, the first 7th Heaven actress who posed for a men’s magazine was Jessica Biel. At 17, she posed topless on Gear magazine. This caused her reduced roles in the long-running family drama series until she appeared only as a guest actress.
Mackenzie tells Maxim, “It was a big deal. The magazine was banned on set, I think by orders of [executive producer] Aaron Spelling. I sneaked a peek at it, though. It was racy gossip amongst the women of ‘7th Heaven.'”
However, Mackenzie also has her share of scandal in 2008. She had photos leaking over the internet with her in her underwear and kissing a girl.
On August 22, the actress stars in “Ghost Shark”, a SyFy film directed by Griff Furst. She co-stars with Dave Randolph-Mayhem Davis, Robert Aberdeen, Eliot Brasseaux and Amy Brassette, among others.
